Abel Horwitz is a writer, producer and performer with a career built on the subversive.
In 2013 he developed Urban Death: Tour of Terror at Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre, which quickly became one of LA’s top haunted houses and in 2023 became Yelp’s #2 scariest haunted house in the United States (!!!).
In 2014 he launched Serial Killer Speed Dating — actual speed dating, with a “serial killer” hidden among the participants.
In 2018 he produced Urban Death at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe — the world’s largest arts festival — where it earned ★★★★★ reviews and sold-out houses.
In 2023 Abel opened a sexy Halloween show in Las Vegas, which won a “Best of Vegas” award and was praised as “inventive” by the New York Times.
His latest project, KOSHER SALT, is his most personal yet — a solo show that takes on antisemitism with history, comedy and defiance.
Through horror, satire and dark comedy, Abel continues to create weird and wonderful experiences that surprise and delight audiences.
